Share
Looking for a garden sauna that fits a smaller outdoor space?
A compact garden sauna can provide room for regular home use without taking over your garden.
At Irish Sauna Company, we manufacture insulated garden saunas in Corr na Móna, Co. Galway, with compact designs created for Irish gardens, Irish weather and everyday home use.
Our two smaller models, The Clare and The Inis Mor, are designed for homeowners with limited outdoor space.
Because we manufacture our saunas ourselves, we can also discuss customising the design to suit your individual space.
Prices start from €6,500 including VAT.
How Much Does a Small Garden Sauna Cost in Ireland?
The cost of an outdoor sauna depends on its size, construction, heating system and materials, and whether you're buying a basic timber kit or an insulated sauna.
Our compact garden sauna range includes two options for smaller outdoor spaces.
| Model | Capacity | Introductory price (incl. VAT) |
|---|---|---|
| The Clare | 1–2 people | €6,500 |
| The Inis Mor | 2–4 people | €8,400 |
Both are manufactured in Galway and designed with insulated construction and electric sauna heating.
These are our introductory product prices, available until 30 November 2026. Delivery, site preparation, electrical installation and any agreed customisations are quoted separately where applicable.
When comparing prices, check how each sauna is constructed and what is included.
The Clare: A Compact Garden Sauna for One or Two People
From €6,500 including VAT
With an external footprint of just 1.5 m × 1.5 m, The Clare is smaller than many garden sheds.
The Clare is designed for one or two people, including couples and individual sauna users working with limited outdoor space.
It's particularly worth considering for:
- Compact gardens and courtyards
- Homes with limited outdoor space
- Couples who want a private sauna experience
- Homeowners looking for a dedicated wellness space without a large garden building
Despite its compact size, The Clare is designed as an insulated outdoor sauna rather than a basic single-skin timber structure.
The Inis Mor: A Little More Room to Relax
From €8,400 including VAT
The Inis Mor offers more room than our smallest model.
Designed for 2–4 people, it's an option for couples who prefer additional space, small families or anyone who wants to use the sauna with friends.
Like The Clare, The Inis Mor is manufactured by our team in Galway and features insulated construction.
It's worth considering if you want:
- Room for two people to relax with more space
- The option to share your sauna with family or friends
- An insulated outdoor sauna for regular home use
- A design that can be discussed directly with the manufacturer
If you're unsure whether The Clare or The Inis Mor would be more suitable, we can help you consider your available space, intended use and budget.
Why Does Insulation Matter in an Outdoor Sauna?
Some outdoor saunas are supplied as single-skin timber kits. Others use insulated wall and roof construction. At Irish Sauna Company, we've chosen insulated construction for our garden sauna range.
Designed to help retain heat
Insulation helps reduce heat transfer through the sauna's walls and roof, supporting heat retention and reducing unnecessary heat loss through the insulated parts of the structure.
Actual heating performance and electricity consumption will also depend on factors such as the sauna's size, glazing, heater, outdoor temperature and how the sauna is used.
Designed with Irish weather in mind
Irish gardens experience cold mornings, wet winters, wind and changing temperatures throughout the year. Construction matters when choosing an outdoor sauna for regular use.
Comparing garden sauna construction
Two garden saunas can look similar in photographs but have very different construction methods.
Before buying, it's worth asking:
- Are the walls and roof insulated?
- What heating system is included?
- What materials are used inside?
- Is the sauna intended for outdoor use throughout the year?
- Who manufactures it, and who can answer questions about the design?
Can You Customise a Garden Sauna?
Yes. We manufacture our own garden saunas in Galway, so you can discuss changes directly with the team building yours.
What can we discuss customising?
Depending on the model and what's technically practical, we can explore:
Dimensions and layout
If you have a particular space to work with or a preferred internal arrangement, send us the details.
Window and door positioning
We can discuss positioning to suit your garden and how you'll access the sauna.
Exterior finishes
We can discuss available finishes to suit your garden or complement an existing building.
Internal layout and individual preferences
We can consider practical adjustments to help the sauna work for the people who will use it.
Not every change will be possible on every model, and bespoke adjustments may affect the price or production time. These details will be discussed as part of your quotation.
Tell us about your garden, what you'd like to achieve and your approximate budget. You don't need a finished design before getting in touch.

How Much Electricity Does a Small Garden Sauna Use?
The electricity used by an electric outdoor sauna depends on:
- The heater's rated power
- The size and construction of the sauna
- The starting and outdoor temperatures
- How long you heat and use the sauna
- Your electricity tariff
As a simple illustration, a 6 kW heater operating at its full rated power for one hour would consume 6 kWh of electricity.
At an illustrative electricity rate of €0.30 per kWh, that would cost €1.80.
However, that is a calculation example, not a running-cost estimate for The Clare or The Inis Mor. Actual energy use varies as the heater cycles and according to operating conditions.
When comparing garden saunas, consider insulation, glazing, ventilation and heater selection, rather than relying on a single advertised running-cost figure.
What Else Should You Budget for When Buying a Garden Sauna?
Depending on your property, you may also need to allow for:
Delivery and positioning
Delivery costs depend on your location, access and the method required to position the sauna.
Ground preparation
Your sauna will need a suitable, stable base. The requirements depend on the site and the chosen model.
Electrical installation
An electric sauna heater needs an appropriate electrical supply and installation by a suitably qualified electrician.
Customisation
If you choose changes beyond the standard model specification, these will be discussed and priced before you commit.
The Clare or The Inis Mor: Which Small Garden Sauna Should You Choose?
If your priority is the smallest possible footprint, start with The Clare. Its 1.5 m × 1.5 m external dimensions suit compact gardens and individual or two-person use.
If you want more room or the flexibility to share your sauna, consider The Inis Mor.
Think about who will use it, where it will sit and whether you'd like any design changes. If neither standard design fits your space, we can discuss custom-made options.
